Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT KIND OF THERAPY IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

It is a guided form of therapy which makes use of a mixture of focussed concentration, attention, and relaxation to help an individual reach a heightened state of awareness, or a trance. Hypnosis, which is a form of hypnotherapy, is often used to enter into this state of altered awareness, in which an individual can access difficult thoughts, engage with painful emotions or become more open to suggestions that could bring about positive change.

WHAT DOES HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?

You can expect to have a variety of experiences which may range from conversations, insights and visualizations similar to what you may have experienced in meditation or the way you feel right before you fall asleep. Our change work is designed to go deep and work in your subconscious. You’ll likely feel better right after your session, and the work will continue to seep into your unconscious, and you'll rewire the way your brain perceives experiences that have been triggering or creating blockages.

WILL I BE ASLEEP?

During each session, you will be awake, but deeply relaxed, and we will be collaborating on rewiring your mind - creating new resourceful neural patheews.

As you journey deeper in your subconscious, we can get more insight into your circumstance, lessen physical and emotional pain, and provide resourcefulness in the areas of your life where you may been struggling or feeling hopeless. You will be able to speak during your session. You will remember everything you want to remember.

How long is each Session?

Each session is 90 or 120 minutes.

How many sessions do I need?

Most people, can and do experience a profound shift in just one session, but sometimes we have been dealing with the same issue for so long that we’ve made it our identity, and we have to do some training for that new neural pathway to be strong enough to support you going forward. For most people, they require at least 3 to 6 sessions working on one issue to see the full benefits of hypnosis.

Each session has a specific goal and builds from the last session.

I THINK AM TOO ANALYTICAL FOR HYPNOSIS. CAN I BE HYPNOTISED?

Actually, hypnosis is a natural state that you likely experience multiple times daily. If you've ever become absorbed in your own thoughts and tuned out other people, that's a hypnotic state. If you've ever felt emotions while watching a movie, you've experienced a hypnotic state. People with higher IQs are actually the best candidates for hypnosis because they are more imaginative

DOES HYPNOTHERAPY WORK ONLINE?

Hypnotherapy actually works extremely well online. In fact, one of the major barriers to hypnotic state is "therapist chair anxiety." Because total relaxation is key to our process, I have found overwelmingly, that people can relax more from the comfort of their own home. Another important requirement of hypnotic state, is focused attention, which is heightened in a tele-appoinment. That same reason you find yourself exhausted after your Zoom work meetings, is why its actually perfect for the purpose of hypnotherapy.
